A customer's experience

“I run a livery yard and was constantly putting off invoicing until the evening. SaidToPaid lets me create invoice drafts from voice notes while I’m working, which has made keeping on top of payments much easier. It’s simple to use on my phone and saves me a lot of admin time.”

Why do equestrian businesses fall behind on invoicing?

Bay horse looking out of a timber stable at a livery yard

Yard work happens in the field, the stable and the arena, not at a desk. Extra turnouts, a quick clip or a wormer get done between horses and are easy to forget by the end of the month.

When the invoices finally get written, they're done from memory in the evening, and small charges go missing. Over a month that's real money.

SaidToPaid can be used by livery yards, horse trainers, riding instructors and other equestrian businesses to create and send customer invoices from spoken or typed job details.

Invoice software for horse trainers and riding instructors

Schooling, lessons, training sessions and freelance riding can all be invoiced from one spoken sentence. Add clipping, transport and treatments as separate lines so owners see exactly what they are paying for.

Selling blocks of sessions? Lesson packs let clients buy credits upfront and book against them. Cancellations can be invoiced as their own line, and recurring clients can be billed on a schedule.

How does voice invoicing work for equestrian?

You say one sentence. SaidToPaid turns it into separate, priced invoice lines.

What can SaidToPaid do for equestrian?

01

Invoices from voice notes

Say the livery, the horse and the extras. SaidToPaid separates each charge into its own line with a price.

02

Record extras before they're forgotten

Add a turnout, a rug change or a hard feed as it happens, then bill it all together at the end of the month.

03

Create invoices from your phone

Everything works on a phone at the yard. No laptop, no spreadsheet.

04

Automatic payment reminders

On Pro, polite reminders go out to owners when an invoice is overdue, so you don't have to chase at the yard gate.

05

Owner and horse details kept together

Horses sit on the owner's record, so every invoice names the right horse.

06

Review before sending

Each invoice is a draft first. You check it, edit it and approve it.

07

Recurring liveries

Set a monthly livery once and the invoice raises itself on schedule (Pro).

08

Estimates for schooling blocks

Send an estimate for a block of lessons or schooling, and the owner can accept it online.

Who is it for?

SaidToPaid is used by equestrian professionals who spend their day with horses rather than at a computer.

  • Livery yards
  • Horse trainers
  • Riding instructors
  • Freelance riders
  • Equine therapists
  • Farriers
  • Competition yards

Frequently asked questions

Is there invoicing software specifically for horse businesses?

Yes. SaidToPaid is built around yards, trainers and instructors, with horse and owner records, monthly livery, extras and lesson packs.

Can horse trainers create invoices from their phone?

Yes. Say the schooling, training or transport at the yard and the invoice draft is ready to check and send from your phone.

Can I sell blocks of lessons?

Yes. Lesson packs let clients buy credits upfront by card or invoice and book sessions against them.

How do I invoice a cancelled lesson?

Add the cancellation as its own line, in line with the policy you agreed with the client, so it is clearly separate from lessons taught.

Can owners with several horses get one invoice?

Yes. Invoice the owner once, with each horse's charges on clearly labelled lines.

Invoice wording & UK business checklist

Invoice terms you can copy

Plain wording to add to the notes on your invoices. Save it once in your settings and it goes on every invoice. General guidance, not legal advice.

Late payment (business customers)

Payment is due within 30 days of the invoice date. If you are a business customer, we may charge interest on late payment at 8% a year above the Bank of England base rate, plus fixed compensation, under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

Payment in advance and notice

Livery is payable monthly in advance. Either party may end this agreement with 30 days' written notice.

Vet and farrier authority

If we cannot reach you in an emergency, you authorise us to call a vet or farrier for your horse. Their fees will be added to your next invoice.

Extras

Extra services such as clipping, additional turnout, rugging changes and wormers are charged at the rates in our price list and shown on your invoice.

The late payment law only covers business-to-business invoices. Fixed compensation is £40 on debts under £1,000, £70 up to £9,999.99 and £100 from £10,000.

Livery yard checklist (UK)

  • Give every client a written livery agreement covering services, prices, notice and what happens if bills go unpaid.
  • Every horse must have a passport, and in England a microchip. Check them when a horse arrives.
  • Agree your yard's vaccination rules, such as equine flu, in writing. Many yards and competitions require it.
  • Have care, custody and control insurance as well as public liability.
  • List extras with clear prices so clipping, turnout and wormers end up on the invoice.

General guidance, checked October 2026. Rules change and vary by council, so check with your local authority, insurer or HMRC.
