A customer's experience

“I run a livery yard and was constantly putting off invoicing until the evening. SaidToPaid lets me create invoice drafts from voice notes while I’m working, which has made keeping on top of payments much easier. It’s simple to use on my phone and saves me a lot of admin time.”

Why do livery yards lose money on extras?

Bay horse looking out of a timber stable at a livery yard

Full livery is the easy part. It's the extra turnouts, the clip, the wormer and the hard feed that slip through — done between horses and forgotten by invoice day.

Writing a month's invoices from memory in the evening means small charges go missing, month after month.

SaidToPaid is an invoice app livery yards use to bill monthly livery and additional services from spoken or typed notes.

Monthly livery billing with every extra included

Set monthly livery up as recurring billing against each horse and owner, then add chargeable extras as they happen: turnout, rug changes, bedding, clipping, wormers, vet and farrier holds, schooling and transport.

Say the extra at the stable door and it is waiting on next month's invoice, so forgotten charges stop slipping through. Overdue invoices can be chased automatically on Pro.

When you don't need full livery yard management software

Large yard-management platforms cover feed charts, staff rotas and turnout planning. If what you really need is invoices, recurring livery and extras billed correctly, a simpler billing tool may be all your yard needs.

SaidToPaid is an invoicing and billing tool. It does not replace every yard-management function, and it doesn't pretend to.

How does voice invoicing work for livery yards?

You say one sentence. SaidToPaid turns it into separate, priced invoice lines.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best invoicing software for a small livery yard?

For most small yards, one that handles monthly livery and extras without a full management platform. SaidToPaid bills the package on a schedule and lets you add extras by voice as they happen.

How do livery yards invoice monthly fees?

Set each owner's livery as a recurring invoice, then add the month's extras before it goes out.

How should livery yards bill extras?

From an agreed price list, recorded on the day and shown as dated lines on the monthly invoice.

What should a livery invoice include?

Your yard details, the owner, horse name, the livery package and period, each extra with its date and price, the total and payment details.

Does SaidToPaid replace yard management software?

No. It handles invoicing, billing and payment chasing — not feed charts, rotas or turnout planning.

Invoice wording & UK business checklist

Invoice terms you can copy

Plain wording to add to the notes on your invoices. Save it once in your settings and it goes on every invoice. General guidance, not legal advice.

Late payment (business customers)

Payment is due within 30 days of the invoice date. If you are a business customer, we may charge interest on late payment at 8% a year above the Bank of England base rate, plus fixed compensation, under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

Payment in advance and notice

Livery is payable monthly in advance. Either party may end this agreement with 30 days' written notice.

Vet and farrier authority

If we cannot reach you in an emergency, you authorise us to call a vet or farrier for your horse. Their fees will be added to your next invoice.

Extras

Extra services such as clipping, additional turnout, rugging changes and wormers are charged at the rates in our price list and shown on your invoice.

The late payment law only covers business-to-business invoices. Fixed compensation is £40 on debts under £1,000, £70 up to £9,999.99 and £100 from £10,000.

Livery yard checklist (UK)

  • Give every client a written livery agreement covering services, prices, notice and what happens if bills go unpaid.
  • Every horse must have a passport, and in England a microchip. Check them when a horse arrives.
  • Agree your yard's vaccination rules, such as equine flu, in writing. Many yards and competitions require it.
  • Have care, custody and control insurance as well as public liability.
  • List extras with clear prices so clipping, turnout and wormers end up on the invoice.

General guidance, checked October 2026. Rules change and vary by council, so check with your local authority, insurer or HMRC.
