Why is invoicing hard for dog walkers?

Golden retriever and spaniel on leads on a countryside footpath

Most customers book several walks a week, plus the odd extra walk or a solo walk when the dog needs it. Keeping count across lots of customers is fiddly.

Accounting software is built for desks and accountants. You just need a clear invoice for each customer, and to get paid.

SaidToPaid is an invoicing app that dog walkers, pet sitters, dog trainers and groomers use to create customer invoices from spoken or typed notes.

Dog walking software for independent walkers

Built for one-person and small dog walking businesses rather than booking marketplaces. Keep each client and their dogs on file, and invoice group walks, solo walks, drop-in visits and pet sitting in one place.

A simple invoice app for dog walkers

Say a week or a month of walks in one sentence and SaidToPaid builds the invoice with each walk type priced separately. Extra dogs, cancellations and holiday visits go on as their own lines.

How does voice invoicing work for dog walking & pet services?

You say one sentence. SaidToPaid turns it into separate, priced invoice lines.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best invoice app for dog walkers?

One that invoices a week or month of walks in one go. With SaidToPaid you say the walks and prices and it builds the itemised draft.

Should dog walkers invoice weekly or monthly?

Monthly suits regular clients and cuts admin; weekly suits new or irregular clients. You can use both.

What should a dog walking invoice include?

Your details, the client, an invoice number, the period, each walk type with quantity and price, extras, the total and how to pay.

How do dog walkers invoice cancellations?

Under the policy agreed with the client, as a separate dated line so it is not confused with a completed walk.

Can dog walkers create invoices from their phone?

Yes. Say the walks between visits and approve the draft from your phone.

Invoice wording & UK business checklist

Invoice terms you can copy

Plain wording to add to the notes on your invoices. Save it once in your settings and it goes on every invoice. General guidance, not legal advice.

Payment terms

Payment is due within 7 days of the invoice date. Walks may be paused if an invoice is overdue.

Cancellations

Walks cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice are charged in full.

Bad weather

In extreme heat or severe weather we may shorten a walk or swap it for a garden visit, for your dog's safety. The normal price applies.

Vet emergencies

If your dog is hurt or unwell and we cannot reach you, you authorise us to take your dog to your vet. Vet fees are your responsibility.

The late payment law only covers business-to-business invoices. Fixed compensation is £40 on debts under £1,000, £70 up to £9,999.99 and £100 from £10,000.

Dog walker checklist (UK)

  • Check your council's rules. Many have orders limiting how many dogs one person can walk, often 4 to 6.
  • Dog walking itself does not usually need a licence in England, but home boarding and day care do.
  • Have public liability insurance, plus cover for care, custody and control and for holding client keys.
  • Keep a signed form for each dog with vet details, emergency contact and permission to treat.
  • Agree your cancellation and payment terms in writing before the first walk.

General guidance, checked October 2026. Rules change and vary by council, so check with your local authority, insurer or HMRC.
